about

Sepia is the debut album by Houston, TX drone collective The Orphic Collective. With almost a dozen contributing members all of contrasting styles, the pieces of Sepia range from organic unaltered soudscapes to processed digital noise. Sepia was recorded over the course of multiple months in several separate venues, ranging from outdoors to bathrooms and everywhere between.
With the release of Sepia, The Orphic Collective hopes to bring the listener more than just music, but a deep experience that will take infinite listens to totally grasp. Sepia is in no way accessible, but The Orphic Collective assures you that every listener will have a different interpretation of the audio. Some will love it, and some will hate it, but when listened to in it's entirety, Sepia will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience.

Included in the download of the album is a pdf of "The Director's Notes," written by TOC director Evan Schaaf, which explains the philosophy, visualization, execution, production techniques, and key observations behind each piece, which will give the listener a more complete and immersive listening and learning experience. The pdf also includes various artwork/photography and credits on each track.
